Junior children (usually in Year 5 or 6) are invited to join residential visits in the care of school staff. We organise annual visits to the Outdoor Education at Pendine, this may be in the Spring or Summer Term. Children who are members of the Urdd Youth Group are also offered visits to either Llangrannog or the Cardiff City Sleepover.

All school visits are risk assessed. Some residential visits include outdoor and adventurous activities. Instructors on such activities hold all the necessary qualifications and are experienced in working with school groups. Full details are given to parents prior to each visit.

The value of Residential visits with school staff is immense. Personal and social skills come to the fore and it is an opportunity for children to show their level of maturity and independence. It helps children recognise and understand the value of organisational skills, presents them with an opportunity to try new and sometimes risky activities and improves self esteem. It helps them to solve problems, to compromise and to be resilient. We believe each of these is an important life skill.
