Best wishes to former pupil Tom Laxton, member of the Welsh Senior Swimming Club, who is training towards the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Former pupil Amy Roberts has recently been accepted on to British Cycling’s Olympic Academy Programme. The Academy is the third step on British Cycling's pathway to elite success, and aims to develop riders aged 18 and over to compete at Olympic Level.
Amy will be joining the Olympic Gold Medallists Laura Trott, Dani King and Jo Rowsell who are also British Cycling Academy members. She has recently competed in the World Cup in Columbia riding for the Welsh Team USN where she gained a silver medal in the Team Pursuit with fellow team mates Elinor Barker and Ciara Horne. Her next major competition is in the World Cup in Mexico in January.
The World Cups will provide valuable experience for the 2014 Commonwealth Games which will be Amy's goal over the next couple of years.
