Autumn Term Learning
Both Dosbarth Maenobyr and Dosbarth Biwmares have made a settled transition to the juniors in Johnstown School. They are trying really hard to “Be all they can be”.
We have been really enthusiastic in learning about food from around the world. We have sampled food from around a variety of countries including China, Spain, Germany, Russia, Greece, France, Mexico, Nigeria and Jamaica. Even though the contents of the meals were different, each meal was balanced and varied.
Year 3 worked extremely hard to make this year’s Harvest performance a spectacular extravaganza. Linked to our theme “Global gourmet”, a group of friends came up with their own ideas to provide food for the needy. Those who joined us on Wednesday 16th October at 9:30 am enjoyed all of the children’s hard work.
Following our theme, we visited Carmarthen market and “Caban y Dderwen” to learn more about local produce. We also had the opportunity to order food from the menu. We were so enthralled by our visits that we decided to make and sell our own produce in our cafe (Tea-Rex). This raised over £60 for needy children in Third World countries.
